Shakthan Thampuran Archaeological Museum , Thrissur, Kerala
The Archaeological Museum, Thrissur was started as Sree Moolam Chithrasala (Picture Gallery) in 1938 by the Government of Cochin.
The gallery’s exhibits and paintings were the result of many pain-staking years of work — collating and then creating faithful copies of many old mural paintings from the Mattancherry Palace and selected temples of the former Cochin State.
